  • What conditions do you treat?
    We treat Headaches and migraines, Joint and muscle pain, Irritable bowel syndrome, Painful menstruation, Menopause related hot flushes, Fibromyalgia, Fertility health.
  • Does it hurt?
    Some patients feel little to no sensation, some experience a slight pinch where the needle is inserted and there may be some warmth, a dull ache or tingling.
  • How many sessions will I need?
    This varies from person to person. It could be as few as one or two sessions. However, most people find most benefit from 6-8 sessions.
  • What is Western Medical Acupuncture?
    Western medical acupuncture is a therapeutic modality involving the insertion of fine needles; it is an adaptation of Chinese acupuncture using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and the principles of evidence based medicine.
  • Are there any side effects?
    Generally there are none, however, a small minority may experience sleepiness/drowsiness, mild nausea, minor bruising around the insertion sites.
  • How long is a session of acupuncture and how much does it cost?
    The first appointment is half an hour long. This includes 10-12min for the acupuncture. The first session costs £65 and all follow ups are £50 per session.
  • Is acupuncture safe with my medication and medical history?
    I will carry out a thorough assessment of your medication and medical history prior to recommending a treatment plan.
